UK Digital Music Revenues Grow 25% in 2011

IFPI's latest 'Recording Industry In Numbers' report shows the continued growth in digital music revenues, alongside the decline in physical format sales.

  • UK Digital revenues up 24.7% year-on-year.

  • UK Digital subscription revenues up 47.5%.

  • The number of subscribers to digital music services rose 65% year on year, to 13.4 million globally in 2011.

  • Globally the number of single track downloads increased 13%, while digital album downloads rose 26%.
